What is the competitive program?
Competitive Leagues are for players who want to train and play at a higher level
Teams play in the Louisiana Competitive Soccer League (LCSL), which is run by the Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA)
How much are the fees?
Fees are $700 for the entire soccer year (Fall 2017 and Spring 2018)
This fee does not include the cost of the uniform
What is included in my fees?
- Paid licensed coach with 2 training sessions per week
- Paid licensed coach to attend all competitive league, friendly, and tournament games
- Team tournament budget ($2000 per team) - if a team reaches that amount & wants to participate in more tournaments, the team is responsible for the tournament entry fee
- Pre-season team camp
- Optional Club training opportunities
- State Cup tournament entry fee
- STYSA Club fee
- LSA fee
- H.A.R.D. fee
- Referee fees for all LCSL games and additional friendly games
Will there be any additional fees incurred?
NO, STYSA will not require any additional payments
How long is the season?
The soccer seasonal year is from August 1st to July 31st of the following year
How are uniforms ordered?
Parents will be required to order player uniforms from Third Coast Soccer and information will be provided to parents when orders may be placed
Required uniform is two jerseys, one pair of shorts, 2 pairs of socks
Uniforms are used for 2 years (2017 through 2019)
Where are training sessions held?
All training sessions are held at Chappapeela Sports Park
When are the training sessions?
Training sessions are typically twice per week in the evening
Day & times are set by the trainer for that team
When are the games?
LSA sets the league schedule and games may be played on Saturday or Sunday, or both days, during the season
Will teams be required to travel?
Participation in LCSL will require travel for games
Approximately 50% of the games will be home games and neutral fields are considered sometimes as HOME games
Who decides tournaments?
Tournaments are at the discretion of each team
Teams can travel out-of-state for tournaments as long as they have the required approvals & paperwork from LSA
All teams participate in the State Cup Tournaments at the conclusion of the soccer year
What equipment must each player provide?
All players must wear properly-sized shin guards, and soccer cleats
All players must bring a ball and water to games and training sessions
What are the coaching qualifications?
All competitive coaches are required to have at least a USSF "E" license
What if my child didn’t play the whole game?
Game playtime is at the discretion of the coach
Coaches expect all players at every training session and at every game
Players earn playtime by attending and working hard at training sessions
THERE IS NO GUARANTEED PLAYING TIME IN COMPETITIVE
